Beam On: Judith Audu ‘The Midas Touch Producer’


It is no news that there has been immense growth in The Nigerian film industry from time past up until this moment and those that have played a huge part in this growth apart from the actors with their acting finesse, are the producers, directors, screenwriters, editors and makeup artists, without them, there will be no film.

Today our Beam is on the talented film producer Judith Audu Foght. She started out as an actress in the film industry, and sources say she is a producer that seeks only the best, it’s no wonder she produces the best.

Judith Audu who was born on the 1st of July, she grew up in Navy Town, where she also attended Navy Town Primary School Ojo, from 1988 to 1993 and Secondary School, from 1993 to 1999. She obtained a Diploma in French Language, from The French Language Village, Badagry in 2001. And In 2005 Judith obtained a B.A in French, and a Master’s Degree in Public and International Affairs in 2010, all from The University of Lagos. That’s some profile!

The ‘Midas touch Producer’ made her first short film, which was on domestic violence titled ‘Not Right’ in 2014, the film was nominated for awards at the Best of Nollywood Awards, Nollywood Movie Awards, and the Abuja International Film Festival, that same year! In December 2014, Judith won the award for Best Actress at the In-Short International Film Festival, for her role in the Short-film, Alpha Mom. The same movie was also nominated for the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for the ‘Best Short Film’ category. Whoop!

In 2016, Mrs. Foght Produced and premiered her first Feature length film, under her Production Company, Judith Audu Productions, titled ‘Just Not Married’, and in the first week of its release topped cinema ratings across the Nation. Oh, I almost forgot, she also won the award for the ‘Best Actress’ at the Nollywood Awards for the same film!

The film ‘Just Not Married’ also won two awards this year at the just concluded ‘TAFF’. Of course, we cannot forget the film ‘Stormy Hearts’ which was produced this year, the film gained a wide reception from viewers. Darn! Way to go Judith Audu Foght!!! *All Hands Up*
